answer to problem set #12: i will make this a word file, but the answer is quite short, so . . .

Each side has to choose between creating and claiming. Claiming is the
dominant choice. But if both sides claim, they both do worse than if both
sides create.

Hi,

Problem set 18, Question 3 asks about self-censorship, but isn't it a topic
for the Friday class? I have read the 2 articles for the Wednesday class,
but the readings don't seem to discuss self-censorship. Is it still
possible to answer the question?

Yes, it looks like we must have switched the order of those two topics. You don't need to read the next day's assignment (though you can glance at it if you think it'll help). Answer the question as best you can and i will be as generous as possible in the grading. Just think about what self-censorship would be and what you know of signaling.
